Dominion Day! Hurray!
I have nothing new to say this Dominion Day. Canada is still one of the best places in the world to live. Canadians are an interesting and great bunch of people. We are all lucky to enjoy the rights and freedoms that are respected here. Sure, things aren't perfect -- but that is one of the endearing features of this country-- A desire to improve and make Canada even better.

On The Way To Doctor's Office - 3000 Missing
I've been very ill for the last couple of days. Vomiting and other problems with my digestive tract. I finally gave in on thinking it was a 24 hr thing and called my doctor's office who told me to come straight in. I had to carry a tupper-ware bowl with me on the drive in because of the possibility of sudden onset of vomitting.
Anyways as we were going we noticed a woman wearing traditional Coast Salish garb with a big crowd of protest marchers heading up Blanshard. They were peaceful, They were just holding up signs about the "Trail Of Tears" and the thousands of missing Aboriginal Women.
Suddenly all traffic comes to a halt as half a dozen police cruisers show up and attempt to stop the march. As sick as I was, I was getting prepared to join the protest if the cops were going to stop them from marching. The protestors took up one lane, and the police took up the other lane so that nobody could get past and traffic on one of Victoria's busiest streets was halted. We got into a discussion with a guy who was in the lane beside us, and heard us talking about the ridiculousness of a bunch of cops showing up to stop the march.
Finally the cop car that was blocking the other lane moved and we were able to drive past. We honked our horn - and I shouted "If The Cops Would Do Their Job And Find These Women, They Wouldn't Need To March!"
One cop took a few steps after our car at that and screamed at me "PUT YOUR SEATBELT ON" - as I had it undone so I could lean out the window to wave at the protestors.
Victoria is a funny place, especially where we live - just hop skip and a jump away from the Legislative Assembly building. We regularly see protestors on the steps of the Leg, or on the lawn. And every month or so there is some sort of march going on. This is the first time I have seen cops show up like this to stop one of these political shows.

So Very Happy
Today my dad is coming over from Vancouver to have dinner with our family and my Uncle Bruce and his family.
I've been looking forward to this for weeks!
I got him some DVDs that I know he will like, and a bottle of Goldshlaager for his girlfriend since she had never heard of it before and was enchanted with the idea of a liquor with gold flakes in it.
It's almost 10:00 AM and I can't wait for my boys to get up....
Lets Get GOING!!! Vrooom!

Please Donate
By all means -- let's start relief effort fund to make sure that Wendy Sullivan can keep taking trips to Hawaii, having her pubes waxed, and getting facials, manicures and pedicures at fancy $400 a day spas! Yes Indeedy! Everybody chip in so that Wendy won't have to sell herself to freaks who want a neo-con whack job with a gun fetish to be their Dominatrix!

The Apology
I can't help but think of thousands of survivors of residential school who didn't live to see this day.
too little, too late.
Time will tell if this is just another empty gesture.
